When can you head out?

Funselektor announced October 14, 2026 for the Steam release. As of our October 11 check, the store still lists the game as coming soon. The date is confirmed; a universal unlock time is not established by the sources linked here.

Check the Steam page in your own region before making plans around a specific hour. A release date does not mean midnight everywhere, and this guide does not run a countdown that assumes an unannounced timezone.

The developer FAQ discusses PC first and later console support. Its older native-Linux wording does not fully align with the current Steam requirements, so we have left Linux support unresolved rather than turn that mismatch into a promise.

Steam Deck interest appears in the developer AMA, but a development goal is different from a tested release build. Check the current Steam compatibility badge and recent owner reports after launch.

What does it cost?

The announced base-game price is US$24.99. Regional prices, taxes and any launch discount can differ; use the amount shown by Steam at checkout. There is no need to buy an add-on just to understand the game’s core single-player and online co-op modes.

The developer’s August price announcement says there are no preorders. A wishlist is a useful way to find the store again at release, but it is not a purchase, reservation or guaranteed discount.

Can you try the demo now?

The public Steam Next Fest demo ran in June and was extended through June 29. In its August update, the team explained that it could not keep the demo and multiplayer servers running alongside development.

That makes older “download the demo” instructions a poor starting point today. Watch dated demo footage to judge the pace, then use the official store and developer announcements for any new access window. Demo saves carrying into the full game were discussed as a plan, not a guarantee.

PLAYER QUESTIONS

A few things worth knowing

Is over the hill out yet?

As checked October 11, 2026, Steam still lists it as coming soon, with October 14, 2026 as the release date.

Will over the hill be on PS5?

Yes, a PlayStation 5 version is announced for 2027. The same window applies to Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.

Is there a release time?

The sources used here establish a date, not a verified worldwide unlock hour. Check the live Steam page near release.

Should I use a wheel?

The developer FAQ prioritizes gamepad and keyboard controls and does not promise wheel support at launch. Do not buy it specifically for a wheel setup on that basis.
