There’s a world
past the tarmac.
Over the hill is an off-road exploration game from Funselektor and Strelka Games. Drive vintage-inspired 4×4 vehicles through rough country, find new routes, and take the trip alone or with friends.
The official release announcement introduces Canada and Algeria. Think about the kind of trip you want: a quiet drive, an awkward climb, or a convoy that stops to help the last vehicle through. Watch the demo footage below to get a feel for its pace.
This guide brings the practical questions together: when you can play, which platform to use, and what happens to your progress in co-op. It is based on public developer sources. We have not played the unreleased full version.

YOU GO
Start with the right expectations.
- Check the platform. Steam is scheduled for October 14. Consoles are planned for 2027.
- Pick your controls. The FAQ prioritizes controller and keyboard; wheel support is not promised at launch.
- Plan a small group. Online co-op supports four people total; there is no local split-screen.
- Keep an eye on your own progress. Each driver needs to reach their own checkpoints.
